Kelly Services is seeking a detail-oriented Embroidery Machine Operator for a temp-to-hire assignment in the Bourbonnais area, IL. This position serves as a bridge between manual craftsmanship and computerized production, requiring candidates who are comfortable with technology while maintaining a steady, hands-on approach in a manufacturing environment.
The role is designed for individuals who take pride in accuracy and quality. You will operate computerized embroidery and sewing equipment, but success in this position relies heavily on your ability to follow instructions, inspect finished goods for defects, and support the team by moving between departments as production needs shift. This is not a role for those who rush; it is for patient, dependable workers who ensure every stitch is correct before the product moves forward.
This assignment offers a clear pathway to long-term employment. While the initial engagement is a 3–6 month contract, strong performance in attendance, quality, and attitude often leads to a hire-on. The team values candidates who can learn computerized processes quickly and maintain a professional, team-minded attitude in a fast-paced setting.
Your day will involve loading materials into computerized machines, monitoring stitching alignment and thread quality, and performing rigorous inspections to catch incomplete stitching or placement errors. You will use basic computer processes to track production data and utilize measuring tools to position materials correctly. Beyond machine operation, you will be expected to assist with packaging, staging, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. The environment requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
