This position serves as a skilled supervisor within the Electrical Bureau, dedicated to maintaining and repairing critical infrastructure. You will oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical motor control systems, lift stations, storm pumping stations, SCADA telemetry systems, street lighting, building electrical systems, and traffic control equipment. The role involves identifying, planning, and scheduling all preventative maintenance and repair activities while utilizing the existing PM schedule and Town work order system.
As a leader, you will supervise employees in the Electrical Bureau and perform diagnostic repairs on complex electrical systems. You are expected to work independently, exercising initiative and judgment to plan and organize work schedules. A significant part of your day will involve training and evaluating assigned personnel, as well as assigning, directing, and supervising the work of employees and vendors engaged in maintaining the Town's infrastructure.
You will also assist the Facilities Division Manager with budget preparation and monitor yearly expenditures. The role requires the ability to work safely from a bucket truck, interpret blueprints and schematics, and evaluate vendor performance. Given the nature of the infrastructure, this position may require support prior to, during, and immediately following major storm events or emergencies, such as tropical storms or hurricanes.
