About the Role
Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician / Controls Specialist to support a highly secure, mission-critical facility. This role is vital for ensuring reliable power and utility operations across a large 500-acre campus. The ideal candidate will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical distribution and control systems within a Central Utility Plant environment, responding to emergencies and performing preventative maintenance to support critical infrastructure.
Day in the Life
You will thrive in a shift-based environment where safety, precision, and teamwork are paramount. Your day will involve monitoring and troubleshooting Central Utility Plant electrical and control systems, as well as operating SCADA-controlled building and utility systems. You will perform preventative maintenance on power panels, switchgear, and electrical rooms, while safely maintaining low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems up to and above 15kV.
When emergencies or power outages occur, you will be the first line of defense, responding quickly to restore operations. You will also support Plant Stationary Engineers during system events, perform general electrical work such as lighting and wiring, and interpret schematics and blueprints. Maintaining accurate logs, reports, and compliance documentation is a key part of your daily routine to ensure operational reliability.
Hiring Process & Requirements
Candidates must be willing to work onsite and cover any assigned shift. While a Top Secret clearance is not required on day one, the ability to obtain one is essential; an escort will be provided during the processing period. A Journeyman Electrician License (preferably in VA, though DC or MD are acceptable) is required.

Requirements
