Day-to-day responsibilities include presenting subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines and Board of Trustee policies, establishing efficient classroom management procedures, and maintaining high standards of pupil behavior. The educator is expected to identify pupil needs, cooperate with professional staff to resolve health and learning problems, and provide counseling support to students and parents before and after school. Additionally, the role involves sharing the responsibility of interpreting educational programs to the community through activities such as open houses and PTA meetings, as well as planning and coordinating the work of aides and paraprofessionals.
This is a campus-based position where regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is an essential job duty; remote work or alternate work arrangements are not an option. The work environment typically features a moderate noise level, though travel throughout the district is integral to the role. The position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift or move up to 10 pounds, with specific vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision.
