This position serves as a vital link in the Dallas Independent School District's mission to provide equitable and high-quality education. As a teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program while accommodating diverse student learning styles. Your role extends beyond the classroom walls; you will act as a counselor and community ambassador, sharing the educational program's value through open houses and PTA meetings.
The day-to-day reality of this role involves managing a dynamic classroom environment where you establish efficient procedures for student behavior and evaluation. You will utilize a variety of media and instructional methods to motivate students and ensure their progress is accurately recorded and communicated to parents. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with the principal, aides, paraprofessionals, and other staff to assess student needs and resolve health, attitude, or learning challenges. Flexibility is essential as you navigate the rapidly changing landscape of education while adhering to guidelines set by the Texas Education Agency and Board of Trustee policies.
This is a campus-based position requiring regular and punctual attendance at the worksite; remote work is not an option. The work environment typically features a moderate noise level, and travel throughout the district is an integral part of the job. Success in this role demands the ability to perform all duties on-site and maintain a presence that supports the school community.
