The Ecological Monitoring and Management Crew Member (EMMCM) plays a vital role in the Community Health Index (CHI) monitoring protocols, providing critical feedback to forest managers on their management efforts. This data drives improved decision-making for the stewardship of rare plant communities and larger forest complexes. Beyond monitoring, crew members may participate in noxious weed management, brush management, and equipment maintenance. The role demands adaptability to variable weather conditions, remote locations, and difficult, hazardous terrain.
