As an EC Teacher Assistant at Ephesus Elementary School, you will be an integral part of the classroom team, dedicated to creating a well-organized and smoothly functioning learning environment. Your primary mission is to support the EC Teacher by managing non-teaching functions, thereby freeing up the teacher to focus on lesson preparation, individualized instruction, and student evaluation.
In this role, you will work directly with individual students, small groups, or large groups to reinforce learning and implement strategies tailored to specific student needs, interests, and abilities. Your day-to-day impact includes guiding independent study, facilitating oral communication through reading activities, and assisting with data collection for student IEP goals. You will also provide essential physical support and assistance to students with disabilities, ensuring their safety, access to instruction, and full participation in school activities, which may include toileting, feeding, and mobility support.
Beyond the classroom, you will serve as a vital link between the school and families, maintaining professional relationships and strict confidentiality. You will also supervise students during various school activities, including meals, bus duty, emergency drills, and field trips, while acting as a support system for substitute teachers to ensure continuity of care and adherence to student plans.
