Arizona Driver Training Academy is dedicated to shaping confident, responsible drivers and creating safer roads through quality driver education. About the Role
We are seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join our team as Driving Instructors. This role is ideal for those passionate about driving and education who thrive on teaching others. You will deliver comprehensive behind-the-wheel lessons to both teens and adults, utilizing our fleet of Honda Civic Hatchbacks equipped with instructor brakes and mirrors.
In this position, you will do more than just teach driving; you will empower students to master the road. Your day will involve conducting hands-on instruction in various road conditions, assessing student progress, and tailoring lessons to meet individual learning needs. You will also serve as a Certified Third Party Examiner, conducting road tests and ensuring all training complies with local licensing regulations and industry standards.
Hiring & Application Process
To join our team, qualified candidates must hold a valid Arizona driver's license, possess a satisfactory driving record, and have at least 5+ years of driving experience. The application process includes the following steps:
- Submit Application: Provide three references in PDF form to the School Manager.
- Background Check: Complete a background check and fingerprinting at a FieldPrint office using the driving school code.
- ADOT Application: Submit all required ADOT forms.
- Training Phase: Upon selection, you will undergo a structured training program:
- 40 hours of paid behind-the-wheel training (observing lessons, learning techniques, lesson planning, and route planning).
- 10 hours of self-paced study on iPad, documents, and e-learning resources.
- 50 hours of self-paced study for the ADOT Instructor test, covering AZ Laws & Regulations, Title 17 & 28, Driver Manual, Instructor Handbook, and Driving School Curriculum.
Once training is complete, you will be ready to begin instructing as a W-2 employee.
