As a driver, you will embark on a journey that combines intensive training with hands-on operational responsibilities. The role involves mastering industry regulations, company policies, and effective driving techniques before transitioning to the road. You will operate vehicles safely over various distances, adhering to all traffic laws while maintaining accurate logs of deliveries and travel activities in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Beyond driving, you will be an active participant in the logistics process, assisting in the loading and unloading of goods while ensuring the security and safety of the cargo. You will conduct routine checks and maintenance on vehicles to ensure operational efficiency and participate in safety meetings to uphold established safety protocols. A key component of this role is providing exceptional customer service during deliveries, ensuring a positive image of McLane Company is projected to every client.
Hiring Process
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license. Those without a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will have the opportunity to obtain one during our comprehensive training period. Successful applicants will complete an intensive training program designed to prepare them for the demands of the role before beginning their duties.
