Centennial High School is seeking a dedicated Drama Teacher to cultivate students' theatrical skills and foster a vibrant performing arts environment. This role is designed to implement the District-approved curriculum while creating a safe, optimal learning space where students can explore their creativity and develop essential performance abilities.
The Drama Teacher serves as both an instructor and a mentor, guiding students through the artistic process from lesson planning to final performance. The position emphasizes collaboration with band and choral directors to ensure a cohesive arts program, while also modeling professional skills and providing constructive feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding progress and goals.
Your day will involve instructing students in drama and theater techniques, adapting materials to meet varying skill levels, and directing instructional assistants or volunteers to support individual student needs. You will manage classroom behavior to maintain a positive learning environment, prepare teaching materials, and document student progress through grades and anecdotal records. Additionally, you will participate in parent conferences, in-service training, and site meetings to support school-wide goals and maintain credential requirements.

This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) with a contract duration of 192 days, running from August 31, 2026. Work hours are scheduled from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Compensation and benefits, including PERS, medical, dental, vision, and paid leaves, are established by the collective bargaining agreement. Performance evaluations will be conducted annually in accordance with Board policy.
