The DOT Coordinator serves as a critical operational partner to the DOT Manager, ensuring rigorous adherence to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) and Department of Transportation standards. In this capacity, you will act as the local Designated Employer Representative (DER) for drug and alcohol testing programs while managing the full lifecycle of driver qualifications, hours of service compliance, and vehicle safety audits.
This role is designed for a highly motivated individual who thrives independently and takes ownership of safety culture. You will bridge the gap between field operations and regulatory compliance, serving as the primary resource for district operations on all DOT-related matters. From planning and executing mandatory training courses to conducting on-site safety inspections and investigating vehicle incidents, your work directly supports the safety and efficiency of our fleet.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of administrative oversight and field engagement. You will maintain and audit driver qualification files, vehicle maintenance records, and inspection reports to ensure continuous compliance. A significant portion of your time will be spent in the field, performing at least 20 Driver/Vehicle Safety & Compliance Inspections monthly and conducting quarterly site visits to other facilities for random audits.
You will also be responsible for skill training entry-level drivers to successfully obtain their Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDL) and delivering engaging, hands-on safety training to field employees. As a liaison with risk management, you will assist in the investigation of motor vehicle violations, crashes, and near misses, ensuring that all Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) protocols are strictly followed.
Candidates selected for this position must complete and pass all required pre-employment screenings before onboarding begins.
We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
