The Dock Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations within our freight network. This position is essential to maintaining the safety, efficiency, and operational standards that have defined Old Dominion for nearly a century. You will manage a specific shift or section in a service center, ensuring alignment with departmental goals for safety, quality, cost, and service.
In this role, you will drive a culture of growth and collaboration. You will utilize our proprietary technology systems to monitor shipment locations and communicate continuously with associates, customers, and team members. The role requires making quick, informed decisions based on volume levels and providing constructive feedback to improve productivity metrics such as ROI, stops per hour, and delivery accuracy. You will also lead by example, teaching safe lifting techniques and ensuring 100% of trailers are loaded correctly for safe transport.
