Our hybrid working environment is designed to strengthen connection, collaboration, and culture for all employees, meaning most roles will have some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations.
This is a technical leadership role for a Distinguished Engineer who will build and scale architecture and experience across multiple cloud environments. You will leverage open-source technologies to deliver platform-as-a-service solutions that power mission-critical workloads. This is not a consulting role; Distinguished Engineers are hands-on practitioners expected to code and serve as a role model for technical excellence. At least 40% of your time will be devoted to producing tangible artifacts such as vision statements, design documents, and source code.
You will collaborate with other technical leaders and software engineers to drive innovation and engineering excellence. Your focus will be on solving the most complex engineering challenges in service fundamentals—availability, reliability, performance, and scalability—while improving developer velocity through modern CI/CD practices, canary deployments, and real-user telemetry-based testing. You will design fault-tolerant, highly available, and low-latency control plane architectures for cloud-native services, acting as a force multiplier to deliver on the company's most complex challenges.
To join our team, you will engage in a process designed to assess both technical depth and cultural fit. While specific steps may vary, the journey typically involves an initial conversation to discuss your background and vision, followed by technical deep-dives and system design discussions. We look for candidates who can demonstrate how they decompose complex problems into simple solutions and who can balance conflicting stakeholder objectives with empathy for customer needs.
