At NetApp, your ideas power innovation. We lead in intelligent data infrastructure, delivering unified storage, integrated data services, and solutions that help organizations unlock the full potential of their data, from AI to multicloud. As the only enterprise-grade storage service natively embedded in Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure, we empower customers to run everything from traditional workloads to enterprise AI with unmatched performance, resilience, and security.
We are on a path to $10B, and we need passionate teams to tackle real-world challenges. Here, you will see your impact in how customers transform and grow. We celebrate mold breakers, bold thinkers, and problem solvers. Our culture rewards initiative, impact, and ownership, providing the flexibility to balance professional ambition with personal life. At NetApp, differences are not just welcomed—they drive everything we do.
This is a technical leadership opportunity to build and scale architecture and experience across multiple cloud environments. As a Distinguished Engineer, you will deliver platform-as-a-service solutions that power mission-critical workloads. You will collaborate with other technical leaders and software engineers to drive innovation, engineering excellence, and the design of scalable architectures.
You will focus on solving the most complex engineering challenges in service fundamentals—availability, reliability, performance, and scalability—while improving developer velocity through modern CI/CD practices, canary deployments, and real-user telemetry-based testing. A key part of this role involves designing fault-tolerant, highly available, and low-latency control plane architectures for cloud-native services.
Distinguished Engineers at NetApp are hands-on practitioners, not consultants. To earn the respect of the engineering community and keep skills sharp, you will be expected to code and serve as a role model for technical excellence. At least 40% of your time will be devoted to producing tangible artifacts such as vision statements, design documents, and source code.
At NetApp, you won't wait for the perfect moment—you'll make it. The early planning, the extra thought, and the bold ideas that turn good into great are how our people operate. We embrace a hybrid working environment designed to strengthen connection, collaboration, and culture for all employees. Most roles will have some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations, which will be shared during the recruitment process.
NetApp is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and to compliance with all federal, state, and local laws that prohibit employment discrimination based on age, race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, religion, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, protected veteran status, and any other protected classification.
