At NetApp, your ideas power innovation. We lead in intelligent data infrastructure, delivering unified storage, integrated data services, and solutions that help organizations unlock the full potential of their data, from AI to multicloud. As the only enterprise-grade storage service natively embedded in Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure, we empower customers to run everything from traditional workloads to enterprise AI with unmatched performance, resilience, and security.
We are on a path to $10B in growth, and we need passionate teams to tackle real-world challenges and see their impact in how customers transform and grow. At NetApp, you won't wait for the perfect moment—you'll make it. We celebrate mold breakers, bold thinkers, and problem solvers who reward initiative, impact, and ownership.
This is a technical leadership opportunity to build and scale architecture and experience across multiple cloud environments. As a Distinguished Engineer, you will leverage open-source technologies to deliver platform-as-a-service solutions that power mission-critical workloads. You will collaborate with other technical leaders and software engineers to drive innovation and engineering excellence, focusing on solving the most complex engineering challenges in service fundamentals like availability, reliability, performance, and scalability.
Distinguished Engineers at NetApp are hands-on practitioners, not consultants. To earn the respect of the engineering community and keep skills sharp, this role involves coding and serving as a role model for technical excellence. You will devote significant time to producing tangible artifacts such as vision statements, design documents, and source code. Your day-to-day will involve architecting fault-tolerant, highly available, and low-latency control plane architectures for cloud-native services while improving developer velocity through modern CI/CD practices and real-user telemetry-based testing.
We embrace a hybrid working environment designed to strengthen connection, collaboration, and culture for all employees. Most roles will have some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations, which will be shared during the recruitment process. Here, differences are not just welcomed—they drive everything we do. We provide flexibility so you can balance professional ambition with your personal life.
The recruitment process is designed to assess both technical depth and cultural fit. Candidates can expect to engage in a series of interactions that include an introductory conversation, a technical deep-dive, and a system design session to evaluate architectural thinking. The final stages involve a team fit interview to ensure alignment with our collaborative and innovative spirit.
