The Dispatcher serves as the operational hub for waste collection, transfer station activities, and material recovery facility (MRF) logistics. This position ensures the efficient coordination of daily routes, weighing and processing of incoming and outgoing loads at the scale house, and provides excellent customer service to haulers, contractors, and the public.
Initially created to support operations during a leave, this full-time role is designed to grow with the organization. As the team expands, there is an anticipated need for additional dispatcher capacity, and this position may transition into an ongoing role based on business needs.
You will be the primary point of contact for drivers, managing daily routes and tasks to ensure efficient coverage of service areas. Your day involves monitoring driver progress via GPS and verbal communication, making real-time adjustments to accommodate delays, breakdowns, or urgent service requests. You will maintain accurate logs of activities and collaborate with leadership to modify routes to meet customer needs.
Beyond dispatching, you will handle accurate ticketing and data entry, manage cash and accounts at the scale house, and verify materials for contamination or load types. A key part of your role is cultivating strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce stress during last-minute schedule changes, while also assisting drivers with AMCS application accuracy and Hours of Service awareness.
This role requires providing support, guidance, and oversight to a large team while working proactively to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Success in this position depends on the ability to work independently with high attention to detail, yet collaborate effectively in a team environment during high-pressure situations. You will be expected to make calm decisions in emergencies and resolve conflicts between drivers and customers.
To apply, please submit your resume highlighting your experience in logistics, dispatching, or customer service. Candidates with bilingual skills are particularly encouraged to apply.
