Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization deeply committed to the welfare of animals. We believe that the health of our people directly determines the health of our organization. Our mission is to create a thriving workplace culture where human-centered work is the foundation for effectively carrying out our animal welfare goals.
We practice nonviolent communication and prioritize emotional intelligence and collaborative problem-solving. We understand that animal welfare professionals are inherently exposed to trauma through our mission work; therefore, we are dedicated to creating an organizational culture full of deep care, support, psychological safety, honest communication, and open-hearted conversations.
At Brother Wolf, we believe that fun, laughter, and joy play a key role in creating an impactful work environment. We actively support staff wellbeing and prioritize creating a healthy work culture to keep passionate people in animal welfare long-term. We value work-life balance and believe that attending to the whole professional in each employee brings the best results for all.
The Director of People & Culture serves as a strategic partner to the organization, supporting human resource functions and proactive employee support in alignment with our organizational goals. This role is designed for a self-starter who believes that a nonprofit's focus on helping employees thrive is critical to its ability to execute its mission.
In this position, you will collaborate at all levels of the organization to build a thriving workplace culture. You will be responsible for streamlining onboarding and offboarding procedures, ensuring HR record-keeping is impeccable, and utilizing HR software to its full potential. You will lead with empathy, curiosity, and clear communication, fostering an environment where staff feedback is encouraged and valued.
Your day-to-day will involve developing strategies to ensure HR initiatives reinforce our culture and values. You will be the go-to person for management consultation, coaching resources, and strategic problem-solving. You will also play a key role in nurturing a work environment that balances professional boundaries with deep care, potentially collaborating with outside professionals for management trainings and social worker support sessions.
