About the Role
The Director of Assessment & Referral serves as a pivotal leader in our admissions ecosystem, ensuring a consistent and efficient journey for patients from initial contact to treatment placement. This role exists to bridge the gap between clinical assessment and immediate care, managing both telephonic and in-person risk assessments across all locations, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) sites.
In this position, you will not only oversee the daily operations of the Assessment & Referral department but also act as a strategic partner to senior leadership in driving census growth. You will be the face of our organization for families, referral sources, and patients, guiding them through the intake process with empathy and clinical precision. Your day will involve leading and developing a dedicated team, ensuring 24/7 coverage, and maintaining rigorous communication channels to facilitate rapid admissions and crisis intervention.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDirect and manage daily operations of the Assessment & Referral department
- check_circleOversee the entire admission process for individuals following initial assessment
- check_circleLead, coach, and develop department staff through scheduling and performance management
- check_circleEnsure 24/7 coverage for Assessment & Referral services with appropriate staffing levels
- check_circleMonitor and improve key performance indicators such as call response time and conversion rates
- check_circleCollaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute census growth strategies
- check_circleBuild and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, and community partners
- check_circleAddress and resolve escalated concerns related to Assessment & Referral services
- check_circleFacilitate rapid admissions and maintain communication with referral sources and families
Requirements
- verifiedMaster's degree with a clinical license required
- verifiedLMSW or LCSW or LPC or LPC-Associate
- verifiedMinimum two (2) years' working experience in an Admissions department
- verifiedWorking knowledge of JCAHO Standards, OSHA regulations, and state and federal laws and regulatory requirements
