About the Role
Larimar Therapeutics is seeking a Director of Data Management to build and lead the enterprise data strategy for our Biotechnology Data Science & AI organization. In this pivotal role, you will partner with R&D, clinical, and commercial teams to design and own the data governance, master data, and quality frameworks that enable trustworthy, analysis-ready data across the entire drug development lifecycle.
You will serve as the steward of our data platforms and standards, championing metadata and lineage while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and privacy compliance. Beyond technical oversight, you will mentor a growing team within a creative, collaborative culture that is deeply focused on innovation and impact. This position exists to transform how we manage data, ensuring it serves as a reliable foundation for scientific discovery and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleEstablish and lead data governance forums, stewardship models, and data ownership across domains
- check_circleDesign and implement master data, metadata, and data quality frameworks spanning R&D, clinical, and commercial data
- check_circleOversee selection, implementation, and operation of data platforms, tooling, and standards
- check_circleDevelop KPIs and scorecards to measure data quality, usability, and business impact
- check_circleDrive continuous improvement and automation of data ingestion, curation, and documentation processes
- check_circlePartner with DS/AI, IT, and scientific teams to deliver compliant, analysis-ready data for analytics and modeling
- check_circleCommunicate data strategy, roadmaps, and outcomes to executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners
- check_circleEnsure adherence to regulatory, privacy, and security requirements such as GxP, HIPAA, and GDPR
- check_circleBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing data management team and cultivate a collaborative culture
Requirements
- verifiedSQL and modern data warehousing
- verifiedPython or R for data engineering/analytics
- verifiedCloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- verifiedRegulated life-sciences / GxP data experience
- verifiedLeadership experience in data governance councils and stewardship programs
- verifiedCertified Data Management Professional (CDMP) preferred
- verifiedDAMA DMBoK training or equivalent preferred
Nice to Have
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification. DAMA DMBoK training or equivalent. Regulated life-sciences or GxP data experience. Leadership experience in data governance councils and stewardship programs.
