Fidelity Charitable is a public charity that sponsors the largest national donor-advised fund program in the United States. Since 1991, we have introduced tens of thousands of donors to the benefits of using a donor-advised fund to meet their philanthropic goals. While governed by an independent Board of Trustees, Fidelity Investments serves as the service provider, supporting all functions including Program Development, Marketing, Service Delivery, Relationship Management, Finance, Technology, Risk and Compliance, and Fundraising.
The Director of Alternative Investments is a key member of our investment oversight team, acting on behalf of the charity to steward complex capital. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between our internal mission and the external private markets, working closely with external investment advisors to assess proposed investments in private equity, real estate, private credit, hedge funds, and other non-traditional assets.
Beyond strategic oversight, you will lead a team of deal support professionals, ensuring the timely and accurate intake and execution of these transactions. Your day-to-day involves collaborating with internal partners, external fund managers, general partners, and custodial staff to navigate non-standard contracts, valuation support, and operational due diligence. You will also provide consultative support to advisors and donors, helping them understand how alternative investments fit into their broader philanthropic strategies while maintaining rigorous compliance and risk management standards.
Please note that Fidelity is not providing immigration sponsorship for this position. The hiring process will adhere to all applicable regulations under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, and ERISA. Candidates with certain criminal histories may be restricted from employment due to these regulatory requirements.
We are committed to fostering a dynamic team environment where attention to detail and a positive professional attitude are valued. We seek individuals who are not only experts in alternative investments but also possess the communication skills and interpersonal strengths necessary to build trust with donors, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
