We are seeking a Digital Forensic Examiner to support the Air Force Office of Special Investigations at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. In this role, you will support a federal agency focused on sensitive, ongoing criminal investigations and operations. You will utilize a wide variety of forensic tools to acquire and extract data, performing critical analysis on hard drives, storage devices, cell phones, PDAs, and other electronic devices that may hold evidence admissible in a court of law.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve performing forensic analysis of digital information, gathering and handling evidence, and executing a variety of forensic and electronic discovery services. This includes digital evidence preservation, data recovery, tape recovery, email extraction, and database examination. You will employ advanced techniques to crack files and system passwords, detect steganography, and recover deleted, fragmented, or corrupted data from digital media of all types. A key part of your mission is observing proper evidence custody and control procedures, documenting your findings in a manner suitable for courtroom presentation, and preparing comprehensive written reports. You may also be required to testify in federal or military court as an expert witness.
This position is fully on-site in the San Antonio area, Monday through Friday.
