DTS is seeking a DevOps Lead to join a direct client in Dearborn, MI, as a contractor with the potential to convert. This is a hands-on leadership position designed to replace a highly experienced team member and operate at an architectural level. You will own the design of infrastructure and DevOps pipelines across multiple technology stacks, collaborating broadly with engineering and operations teams.
The role is pivotal in driving continuous integration, continuous delivery, and security practices within a Microsoft Azure environment. You will focus heavily on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and support the migration toward containerized workloads. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing development workflows, automating the provisioning of Azure resources, and ensuring the highest level of security through automated governance and Security as Code practices.
You will guide a small team (two people) while managing heavy cross-functional collaboration with developers and operations. A key part of your leadership will involve guiding another contractor, making critical decisions, and directing work even without formal management authority. You will work in a highly secure, locked-down environment, requiring regular collaboration with the security team.
Key initiatives include migrating from Bitbucket to Azure DevOps, transitioning from Jenkins pipelines to Azure DevOps, and building pipelines for Databricks to support ML/AI model deployments. You will advocate for software engineering best practices, such as unit testing and code reviews, to improve end-to-end secure delivery.

Prior leadership or team lead experience. Experience coaching teams on branching strategies and DevOps best practices. Familiarity with JFrog Artifactory. Exposure to ML Ops / deploying machine learning models (Databricks-related work). Experience working in high-security / locked-down environments. Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service, or Azure Container Instances. Certified Azure Solutions Architect or Azure DevOps Engineer (AZ-400).
