Nucor is North America's largest recycler and most diversified steel and steel products company. Since 1969, we have led the industry in developing innovative technologies for recycling scrap into high-quality steels that are all around us, from bridges and buildings to cars and appliances.
This position is designed to help you develop a high level of competence with Nucor's detailing system (Rebar CAD) and gain a total understanding of our business system as it relates to detailing and managing project contracts. As you grow in this role, you will transition from learning the fundamentals to independently detailing complex projects and managing contractual issues.
You will work with little supervision to address changes with customers, produce change-order documents, and communicate with architects, engineers, steel placers, and customers on all project-related questions. A key part of your day involves verifying drawings, dates, specifications, and addenda, as well as generating required reports to assist in project management. You will also collaborate with job site personnel to determine project requirements for detailing and material delivery.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor. In this role, you are expected to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. You will be expected to demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor's vision and values while adhering to our rigorous safety programs.
We offer some of the best benefits in the business, including paid weekly wages with bonus and profit sharing opportunities. Our culture supports unlimited growth through clearly defined career pathways and paid training. Team members enjoy paid vacation (3 weeks after 1 year), 10 paid holidays plus a personal day, and parental leave.
We are committed to investing in our employees' futures with tuition reimbursement ($5,250 per year for teammates, $2,625 for spouses) and a scholarship program where every child of a Nucor teammate is eligible for $4,000 per year. Additional perks include low-cost medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days, company-paid life and disability insurance, a company-matching 401(k) plan, and an employee stock purchase plan where we match 10% of your purchase.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. To learn more about our benefits, please visit www.Nucor.com/benefits.
