J & H AITCHESON, a Hajoca Profit Center, is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Delivery Driver to join our team in Lorton, VA. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on providing exceptional customer service, enjoys working independently, and is safety-conscious. As a key member of our operations, you will be the face of our company at job sites and customer facilities, ensuring merchandise is delivered safely and accurately.
Your day will involve operating trucks safely in compliance with all company rules and regulations, loading and securing merchandise, and managing shipping documentation. You will work directly with customers to resolve discrepancies, collect payments for cash sales, and provide sales leads by identifying prospective customers during your routes. Beyond driving, you will maintain the cleanliness and mechanical condition of your vehicle, complete daily inspection reports, and collaborate with vendors and co-workers to ensure smooth operations.
Candidates selected for this position will undergo training in Alexandria, Virginia. The schedule is Monday through Friday, though hours may vary based on business needs. Please note that reliable transportation to both the work location and the training site is required.

Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular. Knowledge of, ability to apply, and practice of safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment. Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Ability to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations. Ability to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment. Ability to learn and operate computer-related systems used in the delivery process. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
