This position serves as the vital link between our inventory and our customers, ensuring building materials and products are delivered safely and efficiently to job sites. The role is essential for maintaining the flow of goods, from retrieving items from storage to managing the final delivery and unloading process.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of warehouse operations and on-site delivery. You will be responsible for loading, delivering, and unloading company vehicles, handling everything from lumber to heavy merchandise in accordance with delivery invoices. A significant portion of your time will be spent operating a forklift to stock merchandise and prepare customer orders by retrieving materials from storage areas.
Beyond the physical delivery, you will act as a representative of the company by adhering to all policies, reporting customer complaints to the manager, and managing inventory levels by notifying the team of shortages or ordering needs. During the winter months, the role also includes the physical removal and shoveling of snow from material piles and the yard to ensure safety and accessibility.
Candidates with prior lumber yard or building materials experience and a clean driving record are encouraged to apply. A valid Forklift certification is required to perform the core duties of this position.
