Northern Essex Community College (NECC) serves approximately 5,000 credit students each semester across two campuses in the historic Merrimack Valley region of northeast Massachusetts. The suburban Haverhill campus spans 106 acres near Kenoza Lake, featuring a Technology Center and an award-winning Student One-Stop Center, while the urban Lawrence campus is located in the heart of downtown. Recently, the College expanded its footprint with the new 44,000-square-foot Dr. Ibrahim El-Hefni Allied Health & Technology Center. Both locations offer convenient access to Boston and the coastal beaches and state parks.
NECC fosters an organizational culture that values initiative, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making. Through strategic planning using Appreciative Inquiry and a decade-long partnership as a Leader College in Achieving the Dream, the College is dedicated to closing student achievement gaps and developing the strengths of its students, faculty, and staff. As the first federally recognized Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) in New England, with over 40% Hispanic students, NECC is deeply committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce that reflects the communities it serves. The College seeks leaders who are passionate about the community college mission, actively promote diversity, and leverage innovation to drive student success.
