About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Security Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will focus on safeguarding critical data, intellectual property (IP), and securing on-premises and cloud environments, including GCC High.
This position is designed to implement advanced security controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and integrate security measures across operations. You will serve as a key partner to Legal, Privacy, and Security teams, ensuring adherence to data contracts and privacy regulations. Your day-to-day work involves developing policies for data owners, configuring M365 security controls, and actively monitoring for security breaches to ensure timely resolution. You will also play a vital role in educating internal stakeholders on evolving security policies and adapting the organization's security posture to align with ever-evolving risks.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this role must be US Citizens and able to obtain a United States Secret Clearance. The role requires up to 10% travel as needed.

- check_circleMonitor for and respond to suspected security breaches ensuring timely incident resolution
- check_circleCollaborate with Legal and Privacy teams to ensure compliance with data contracts and regulations
- check_circleTrain and educate internal stakeholders on evolving security policies and standard processes
- check_circleEnsure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, NIST, and FedRAMP standards through policy enforcement
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree or higher in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field
- verified6+ years experience in Data Security, IT Security, or Information Protection
- verifiedExperience securing M365 and Azure environments
- verifiedHands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Intune, JAMF JSS, Azure Security Center
- verifiedExperience creating and tuning DLP rules
- verifiedKnowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and FedRAMP
- verifiedProficiency in PowerShell scripting
- verifiedUS Citizenship
- verifiedMust be able to obtain a United States Secret Clearance
Nice to Have
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or AZ-500. Experience with Microsoft Purview Information Protection and M365 security and compliance tools. Experience with advanced cloud security tools and strategies like Azure Key Vault, Azure Policy, and Azure RBAC. Knowledge of intellectual property protection strategies and laws. Up-to-date knowledge of emerging data security and cloud security trends, threats, and best practices. Proficiency in risk management tools and methodologies. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across cross-functional teams. Self-motivation with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
