About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer to support the development and optimization of scalable data pipelines in a cloud-based environment. This role focuses on hands-on ETL development, big data processing, and contributing to critical initiatives such as Databricks migration and fraud analytics. You will work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment where strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
Location & Engagement
This is a 6+ month contract position based in Wilmington, DE, with a hybrid work model requiring 3 days onsite per week. The role offers the potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
Interview Process
Candidates will undergo a two-round interview process:
- Round 1: A virtual interview conducted via Zoom.
- Round 2: An in-person interview for local candidates, which includes a coding and scripting assessment.

Requirements
- verified3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field
- verifiedFormal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- verifiedStrong experience with Spark (PySpark preferred)
- verifiedProficiency in Python or Java
- verifiedExperience with AWS cloud services (EMR, S3, Lambda, RDS)
- verifiedHands-on experience with Databricks
Nice to Have
Experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration. Proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Shell scripting. Experience using Terraform for infrastructure as code. Exposure to machine learning or Large Language Models (LLMs) and related use cases.
