About the Team

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we are looking for talented people who want to help.

You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You will collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you will experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

About the Role

As a Data Center Technician, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of the world's most innovative technology platform. You will ensure seamless data center operations that power millions of businesses and services worldwide. This position involves in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair, as well as participating in an on-call rotation.

In this role, you will take ownership of technical issues brought by your customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution. You will demonstrate a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving, solving problems at their root while stepping back to understand the broader context. You will maintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting, and you will be biased to act in the absence of direction or support. You will also help to interview, train, and onboard new team members, contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues.

This role supports data centers in various operational stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational. You will be required to work shift work that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Important Location Note: PDX is an AWS GovCloud region. As required by our contracts with the federal government, effective February 24, 2026, logical access to the AWS GovCloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. (GovCloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United States).
