Customer Service/Sales

Position Purpose

Customer Service and Sales Associates serve as the frontline of our retail environment, delivering fast and friendly service by actively engaging with customers to assess their needs. The role is designed to guide customers through their entire project journey, from initial inquiry to final purchase.

About the Role

In this position, you will master our product tools to provide accurate information and recommendations that help customers complete their projects. You will learn to greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer interaction within your assigned department. Additionally, you will gain a working knowledge of basics in adjacent departments to provide seamless support.

Beyond sales, you play a critical role in maintaining the store's operational excellence. You are responsible for keeping your assigned areas in-stock, clean, shop-able, and safe. This includes adhering to all safety policies, completing required training, and proactively identifying and correcting hazards to ensure a secure environment for yourself, co-workers, vendors, and customers.

You will work cooperatively with Department Supervisors and associates across various departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. Depending on specific store needs, you may focus on roles such as Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, or Customer Order Specialist.
