The North Building Technician serves as a vital support pillar for the organization's facilities, working directly under the Director of Facilities Ministry. This role is dedicated to ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and welcoming for staff, members, and visitors. The position goes beyond routine upkeep; it involves overseeing all areas of building maintenance and custodial care to meet the demands of daily operations and long-term facility goals.
In this capacity, you will be the frontline guardian of the building's infrastructure. Your day-to-day life involves managing repair requests, tracking preventative maintenance, and ensuring inventories of tools and supplies are sufficient. You will maintain critical safety documentation, including property maps that identify utility cut-offs, hydrants, and gas mains, while ensuring all electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
A significant portion of your time will be spent ensuring the environment is safe and organized. This includes managing the daily operations and room setup for events, as well as maintaining the Mary Evans Child Care Development Center in strict accordance with licensing codes. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Facilities Ministry, other staff members, and church members to execute building operations and event setups seamlessly.
This role requires a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. As a key member of the facilities team, you must be reachable during events that fall outside of your normal work week. The position involves physical activity, including the ability to lift 65 lbs. and the mobility to bend, stand, climb, and walk, as well as the use of ladders and single-man lifts.
Candidates selected for an interview will be evaluated on their organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively with guests and employees, and their capacity to plan and adhere to maintenance schedules within budget constraints. The selection process focuses on finding individuals who can empower teams, maintain accurate records, and demonstrate a genuine concern for customer satisfaction.
We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring that our team reflects the community we serve.
