The Custodian 4 serves as a vital partner in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students and staff. This position goes beyond routine cleaning to support the broader mission of the school district by ensuring facilities are ready for learning and community use. As a senior-level custodian, you may assist in supervising and training part-time or temporary staff, acting as a resource for the team.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of daily and weekly tasks, from dusting surfaces and servicing restrooms to managing energy protocols like adjusting lighting and water fountains. You will also respond to specific requests from staff, such as setting up audio-visual equipment, and handle emergency situations with appropriate care. Work Environment & Requirements
This position operates within standard school building environments but also requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow. Employees must adhere to strict safety guidelines, including WPS protocols for equipment use and asbestos awareness.
