About the Role
The Wellstar Diagnostic Float Team (WEST Team) supports a variety of imaging services across our facilities in Region One, including Kennestone Hospital, North Fulton Hospital, and Windy Hill. As a CT Technologist for this team, you will apply your expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at each location you serve.
This role is designed for professionals who prefer a dynamic environment that avoids routine. It allows you to utilize your full skill set across different facilities while providing straightforward pay. You will be the bridge between advanced imaging technology and compassionate patient care, ensuring that every exam is performed with precision and empathy.
Schedule & Incentives
Float Pool technologists enjoy clarity and choice in their scheduling. You can self-schedule multiple shift options up to 8 weeks in advance. A typical monthly schedule includes two Monday shifts, two Friday shifts, and three weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday). In return for stepping in where you're needed most, Float Pool members earn a higher base rate and may be eligible for a float incentive. This position is eligible for full-time benefits.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform CT exams per physician orders, department protocols, and safety standards
- check_circleVerify patient identity, obtain relevant history, and screen for contraindications including contrast risk
- check_circleExplain procedures clearly using AIDET and communicate with patients and families with empathy
- check_circleEstablish IV access using sterile technique and maintain venipuncture competency
- check_circleEvaluate image quality, recognize urgent findings or clinical changes, and involve the radiologist or physician when indicated
- check_circlePerform, document, and follow through on QC checks, calibration verification, and compliance or audit standards
- check_circleAdminister contrast media safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions while escalating concerns promptly
- check_circleOperate CT scanners and power injectors safely while confirming proper anatomical markers and scan parameters
- check_circleMaintain smooth daily operations by prioritizing workload, supporting cross-coverage, and keeping rooms stocked and equipment cleaned
- check_circleOptimize technique to achieve diagnostic image quality while minimizing radiation dose following ALARA principles
- check_circleComplete documentation accurately and on time while managing RIS entries, PACS uploads, and CDs or logs
- check_circlePrepare and position patients, assist with mobility, safe transfers, and use immobilization or shielding as needed
Requirements
