About the Role
The CT Technologist is a vital member of the diagnostic imaging team, operating computed tomography (CT) scanners to capture high-quality images essential for diagnosing injuries, infections, cancers, and other medical conditions. This role exists to bridge the gap between advanced technology and patient care, ensuring that physicians receive precise diagnostic data while prioritizing patient comfort, safety, and dignity throughout the imaging process.
In this position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, guiding them through the procedure with clear communication and empathy. Your day involves preparing patients by verifying medical history and allergies, positioning them safely on the scanner table, and instructing them on breath-holding techniques. You will operate complex CT equipment, calibrate settings for optimal image quality, and administer contrast agents under physician guidance. Beyond technical operation, you play a critical role in the healthcare team by collaborating with radiologists and nurses to troubleshoot image quality, manage patient flow, and ensure strict adherence to radiation safety and privacy protocols.
