Bigge Crane and Rigging has been elevating America since 1916. With over 1,800 cranes and a coast-to-coast presence, we buy, sell, rent, operate, and maintain one of the largest, most advanced crane fleets in the country. We have played a role in building some of America's most iconic landmarks and earned a reputation for doing it right—with performance, precision, and accountability.
The Crane Assembly/Disassembly (A/D) Director serves as the operational leader for the assembly and disassembly of a wide variety of cranes. This role goes beyond operating the crane; it involves directing and ensuring the quality of work for all personnel on site. You will act as the central communication hub between dispatchers, brokers, and truck drivers, managing the logistics of transporting crane parts and overseeing the load-out or offload processes.
Success in this position requires extensive knowledge of assembly and erection procedures, as well as the ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise. You will work closely with crews to ensure cranes are assembled correctly using the proper equipment, positioning, and rigging. A critical part of your day-to-day involves enforcing safety compliance, ensuring all crew members have completed safety training, are wearing proper PPE, and have finished the Job Hazard Analysis.
The environment can be challenging, with many job sites presenting less-than-ideal conditions. Therefore, strong judgment, a solid work ethic, and the ability to remain level-headed are essential. You will also serve as a mentor, teaching riggers and junior A&D technicians while driving productivity and cost control even when facing external delays.
