The Cost/Staff Accountant II serves as a key analytical partner to the Director of Finance, driving financial accuracy and operational efficiency within our manufacturing environment. This position is designed for a professional who thrives on applying complex U.S. GAAP principles to solve real-world business challenges. You will be the bridge between raw operational data and strategic financial insights, ensuring that our inventory, labor, and overhead costs are accurately captured and analyzed.
In this role, you will go beyond standard reporting. You will lead the development of cost standards, manage multi-state tax compliance, and execute internal controls that safeguard our assets. Your work directly influences how leadership understands gross margins and operational trends. By partnering closely with department heads and operations teams, you will translate financial performance into actionable strategies, utilizing technology to streamline processes and improve data integrity.
Your day will be a blend of deep analytical work and cross-functional collaboration. You will spend significant time maintaining the integrity of our financial statements, preparing monthly and annual reports, and managing complex journal entries. A major focus will be on inventory and job costing; you will review bills of materials, analyze variances, and work with production teams to refine cycle count processes and reporting accuracy.
You will also act as a consultant to the leadership team, providing variance analysis that highlights opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency. Whether you are developing new overhead rates, auditing invoices for freight and duties, or refining our Syteline ERP workflows, your goal is to ensure that every dollar is accounted for and every process is optimized. This role requires a balance of independent focus for complex calculations and collaborative communication to drive improvements across the organization.
Candidates selected for this position will be invited to discuss their background and technical capabilities in detail. The process is designed to assess both your accounting expertise and your fit within our team culture.
