About the Role

Vaco is seeking a Controller – Operations Accounting to support the Chief Accounting Officer and senior finance leadership in overseeing the organization's accounting operations. This role is critical for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across the full spectrum of accounting activities, including monthly close, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness.

In this position, you will lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and GAAP-compliant financial statements. You will serve as a key partner to FP&A, operations, treasury, and tax teams, providing variance explanations and driving strategic initiatives. The role also involves supervising and mentoring accounting team members, implementing process improvements to increase efficiency, and supporting the integration of new systems or acquisitions.
