About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented NCDOT CEI Technician to join our team of construction professionals. Based in Aberdeen, NC, and surrounding areas, you will be assigned to active construction sites where you play a critical role in verifying the quality and compliance of project activities in accordance with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) standards. This role offers the opportunity to advance your skillset through on-the-job training and attendance at certification classes, contributing directly to critical transportation projects that enhance North Carolina's infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleConduct on-site inspections of roadways, bridges, utilities, and erosion control to verify compliance with NCDOT standards
- check_circleMaintain detailed daily records of construction activities using company-provided iPad
- check_circleGenerate clear inspection reports, test reports, material received reports, and pay estimates
- check_circlePerform materials testing on soil, asphalt, and concrete to ensure quality assurance
- check_circleMonitor and enforce safety protocols and best practices on construction sites
- check_circleCollaborate with NCDOT staff, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve project issues promptly
- check_circleCommunicate effectively with project stakeholders to provide regular updates on project progress
- check_circleIdentify and report discrepancies, defects, or non-compliance issues found during construction activities
Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years of construction-related experience OR associate's degree in engineering technology, geomatics, or related field AND two (2) years of construction-related experience
- verifiedPrior NCDOT Construction Inspection Experience with active materials testing certification
- verifiedValid driver's license and favorable driving record
- verifiedAuthorized to work for ANY employer in the United States
Nice to Have
Associate Degree in Engineering or a related field. Previous experience working on or with NCDOT projects. Familiarity with NCDOT Standards and Specifications. Certifications including NCDOT Concrete Field Technician, ACI Concrete Field Level I, NCDOT Erosion and Sediment Control Level II, NCDOT Introduction to Asphalt, NCDOT QMS Roadway, NCDOT ABC and Borrow Pit Sampling, NCDOT Conventional Density, and OSHA 10-Hour Construction.
