About the Role
The Computer-Aided Design Specialist will support the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office (AFSEO) Modeling, Analysis, and Tools Support (SEMATS) contract at Eglin Air Force Base. This position is critical to the aircraft-store certification process, serving as the bridge between physical engineering requirements and digital 3-D representation.
In this role, you will create, modify, and maintain complex 3-D models of aircraft, suspension equipment, and various tooling fixtures. A significant portion of the work involves utilizing Siemens NX software to generate structured surface and volume images. You will also act as a translator for engineering data, converting files from Pro/ENGINEER, CATIA, Solidworks, and Autodesk Inventor into NX format for modification and storage.
The role further requires proficiency in reverse engineering techniques. You will scan physical items on-site to capture their shape and reproduce them as solid models using NX software to meet the needs of various engineering customers. Success in this position requires a willingness to learn Siemens NX and other specialized reverse engineering software used by the USAF.
Hiring Process & Requirements
Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is mandatory. Candidates must possess an active Secret security clearance or be able to obtain one. The position requires a High School Diploma plus four years of relevant experience.
