The Complex Director of Finance serves as the consistent leadership force for the financial operations of the hotel. This role is critical for focusing on the profitability of the business while maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting. The Director ensures acceptable levels of internal control, safeguards owners' and investors' assets, and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as Highgate Hotels' Standard Operating Procedures.
In this position, you will manage cash flow issues, monitor revenues and expenses, and create annual budgets alongside monthly variance analyses. You will act as a strategic advisor to management, analyzing financial data to assist in maintaining the hotel's financial objectives. The role also involves establishing and auditing internal financial controls across purchasing, cash handling, and payroll, as well as coordinating successful internal and external financial audits.
Beyond financial stewardship, the Complex Director of Finance is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising staff. You will direct the preparation of all financial reports in accordance with Highgate's requirements, ensuring timely interactions with the Executive Committee to keep property operations on track. The role demands a warm and friendly demeanor, requiring effective communication with employees and guests at all levels to foster a service-oriented environment.
