About the Role
The Driver, Trainee Component position is designed to help you take your CDL-A career further. In this role, you will learn the essential functions of a Driver, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. As a Trainee, you will gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of the developmental process of becoming a McLane Driver.
You will ride and train with a Driver Trainer to various destinations, gaining knowledge of commercial driving regulations while observing skills in starting engines, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering vehicles on the road and customer premises. Your day will involve operating a tractor-trailer in a safe manner, inspecting equipment for defects, and utilizing handheld devices to document deliveries and product temperatures. You will also assist in unloading trailers and providing customer service to ensure on-time delivery of undamaged products.
