About the Role
As a Driver Trainee, you will learn the essential functions of the Driver job, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. This position is designed to give you exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of your developmental process to become a full McLane Driver.
You will ride and train with a Driver Trainer, gaining knowledge of commercial driving regulations while observing skills such as starting the engine, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering the vehicle on the road and customer premises. Your day will involve maneuvering tractors, securing trailers, inspecting equipment for defects, and documenting delivery receipts and product temperatures. You will also assist in unloading trailers and delivering products, providing customer service that includes on-time delivery, handling returns, and issuing valid credits.
