About the Role

This position serves as a Communications Systems Specialist within the State of Delaware Executive Branch. The role is fundamental to maintaining the integrity of the state's communications infrastructure, ensuring that critical systems remain operational and compliant with federal regulations. Incumbents are expected to demonstrate competence in installing, repairing, and aligning communications equipment, as well as troubleshooting complex analog and digital radio systems.

Selection Process

Applications and supplemental questionnaires are evaluated based on a rating of your education, training, and experience as they relate to the job requirements. It is essential that you provide complete and accurate information on your application, including dates of employment, job titles, and specific job duties. For education and training, please list the name of the educational provider, training course titles, and a summary of course content. Narrative information supplied in response to the questions must be supported by the information supplied on your application, including your employment, education, and training history.

Conditions of Hire

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The State of Delaware Executive Branch participates in the Federal E-Verify system, where the State will provide the federal government with each new hire's Form I-9 information to confirm authorization to work in the U.S.

A satisfactory fingerprint-based background check administered by the Delaware State Police is required as a condition of hire. All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
