About the Team
You will join the Infrastructure Cabling Team within the Edge Network Operations Branch. This team is responsible for maintaining the physical network backbone that supports all 120 counties in the state. The role is critical to ensuring connectivity and operational continuity across the entire region.
About the Role
This is a long-term, indefinite onsite position based in the Frankfort, KY office. You will work a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. As a Communications Specialist, your primary focus will be hands-on cabling operations, including running, testing, troubleshooting, terminating, and repairing CAT5, CAT6, and CAT6A network cables. While fiber experience is welcomed and may be utilized, it is not a strict requirement.
Because the team supports a statewide footprint, daily travel is a core component of this role. You will be provided with a state van for equipment and materials, and you must be available for overnight stays when work demands it. A valid driver's license is mandatory.
