Chicken & Egg Films is a US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to championing women and gender-expansive documentary filmmakers around the globe. Through funding, mentorship, and access, we empower storytellers to create work that ignites change. We envision a world transformed by the empathy, learning, and action inspired by the stories we uplift.
Please note: Chicken & Egg Films is not a production company. This is a dedicated communications role designed to express our voice to our community of filmmakers, partners, and supporters, rather than serving as a pathway into documentary program work.
As a Communications Intern, you will help articulate the organization's mission and connect with our global community. Supervised by the Communications Manager, you will play a key part in shaping how we tell our stories and engage our audience. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your communication skills within the context of social change and the documentary film industry.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The first round of interviews will take place in late April or early May. If your application moves forward, we will schedule an interview to be held in person if possible. Applicants who advance past the interview stage will be asked to complete a paid at-home exercise.
To apply, please complete the form on our career page and submit your cover letter and résumé. Your cover letter should respond to the following prompts:
Please also submit a writing sample with your application. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. No phone calls or social media inquiries, please.
For applicants with disabilities, reasonable accommodation will be made to ensure participation in the application process. Please reach out to access@chickeneggfilms.org with any requests.
Chicken & Egg Films is an at-will and equal opportunity employer. We strongly encourage and seek applications from all backgrounds, including but not limited to women and gender-expansive individuals, people of color, bilingual and multicultural individuals, people with working-class backgrounds, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
We take great pride in providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants, prohibiting discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, ethnicity, disability, genetics, protected veteran or military status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, political affiliation, marital or familial status, arrest or conviction record, status as a victim of domestic violence, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws. We participate in the E-Verify Program.
