About the Role
We are seeking a Communications Consultant to support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This position is a hybrid role located in Washington, DC, with some travel when needed.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in strategic communications consulting for external clients and experience working with or supporting the VA. In this role, you will partner with government programs to develop and execute strategic communications plans related to Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementations and modernization initiatives. You will support nationwide internal and external communications campaigns, providing strategic guidance to reach key audiences. Your day-to-day will involve crafting a variety of written materials, conducting research and data analysis, and coordinating meetings with clients to ensure clear messaging, compliance with federal standards, and alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree required
- verified3-5 years of professional communications experience
- verifiedExperience with EHR or EHRM initiatives
- verifiedExcellent writing and copy-editing skills
- verifiedStrong oral communication and presentation skills
- verifiedLegal right to work in the US
- verifiedChange Management certification or PMP preferred
- verifiedExperience supporting strategic communications at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs preferred
Nice to Have
Master's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Experience working for a federal government contractor, consulting organization, PR/Marketing Agency, and/or Association. Previous experience supporting strategic communications efforts at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and/or one of its three administrations. Change Management certification or Prosci Project Management Professional (PMP). Qualified Veteran status.
