Kindred Hospital Houston Medical Center and its Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) provide specialized care for patients with complex medical needs. Our long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) offers advanced, hospital-level treatment for chronically and critically ill patients requiring extended stays. Additionally, our Acute Rehabilitation Unit is dedicated to helping patients recover from the effects of acute injuries, impairments, or illnesses. With a focus on personalized care, both the LTACH and ARU collaborate with your physician to provide 24/7 clinical care, ensuring continuous support on your path to recovery.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAssist professional nursing personnel in providing patient care
- check_circleAssist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures
- check_circleRelease, remove, and reapply patient restraints under RN direction
- check_circlePerform routine treatment procedures such as enemas and application of heat/cold appliances
- check_circlePrepare patient rooms and beds for admission, transfer, and discharge
- check_circleConsult with supervisor regarding unit activities, needs, and patient care issues
- check_circleRespond promptly to patient call lights, telephone, and paging systems
- check_circlePerform activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, and ambulating patients
- check_circleServe patient meals and assist with feeding or food preparation
- check_circleMonitor and record vital signs, weight, height, and intake/output measurements
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)
- verifiedCurrent Nursing Assistant Certification
- verifiedBLS Certification
- verifiedMinimum six months' experience in acute or long-term care facility
- verifiedFluent English (read, write, speak)
- verifiedBasic computer knowledge

High School Diploma or Equivalent including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
