The Financial Operations Specialist - IT serves as a critical bridge between finance and technology, operating under the direction of the Manager Revenue Cycle Systems. This position is designed to optimize cloud spending and usage while driving financial accountability across the organization. By blending financial expertise with technological understanding, the role ensures that cloud financial best practices are embedded into daily operations.
In this capacity, you will manage cloud costs, implement cost-savings strategies, and collaborate with engineering, finance, and business stakeholders to align technology spending with broader business goals. The role focuses on the financial aspects of technology projects, assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, expense tracking, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations within the IT department.
Your work will center on monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing cloud resource utilization to reduce unnecessary spending. You will establish clear financial ownership for cloud resources and implement FinOps principles to promote a culture of cost efficiency. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to providing insights into cloud spending through dashboards and reports, utilizing specialized cost management tools to forecast budgets and track expenses. You will actively identify and execute strategies such as rightsizing instances and leveraging reserved instances to maximize value.
Candidates will be evaluated based on their professional experience in finance or computer science, as well as their ability to demonstrate expertise in cloud cost management and financial accountability.
