We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level Cyber Security Professional to join our team with a specific focus on cloud security authorizations and compliance activities. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with FedRAMP applications and support the critical cybersecurity programs of the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to learn, enjoy research, and wish to build a long-term career supporting federal cybersecurity initiatives. You will work closely with experienced cybersecurity staff, receiving dedicated mentorship on DOE, NNSA, and Environmental Management (EM) cybersecurity policies, standards, and governance processes. The position requires a proactive mindset to stay current with evolving cloud technologies and a willingness to synthesize complex findings into actionable guidance.
Candidates must be able to work on-site with limited teleworking options. The selection process will prioritize those who demonstrate strong written communication skills, a foundational understanding of cloud security concepts (such as FedRAMP, RMF, or NIST SP 800-series), and the ability to conduct thorough research.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We encourage applications from candidates with a Bachelor's degree in any field, though degrees related to Information Technology are desired. Experience with Microsoft cloud services or enterprise IT environments is a plus, but a demonstrated desire to learn and adapt to new regulatory environments is the primary requirement.
Work model: On-site
