We are seeking a Part-Time Clinical Pharmacist to serve as a Resource Float within our Outpatient Pharmacies across Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Williamsburg, and Suffolk. This role is designed to provide safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services by filling in at various locations based on the greatest need for coverage. You will be accountable for the provision of comprehensive and individualized pharmaceutical care, managing patient drug therapy in accordance with clinical practice standards, and assuring the appropriateness of all provider medication orders.
As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will serve as the primary resource for drug information and education, providing in-depth patient counseling when required. You will participate in the training of new employees and precept pharmacy students, while maintaining current knowledge of medication use and disease states. This position requires the ability to work competently and independently, demonstrating superior customer service, effective communication, and decision-making skills. You will also ensure quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements and operate pharmacy equipment appropriately.
Candidates selected for this role will be assigned to one of the following locations based on operational needs: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Sentara Leigh Hospital, Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, Sentara Careplex, Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, or Sentara Obici Hospital. Schedules are typically assigned on a monthly basis and may vary to meet the needs of the pharmacy. Availability to travel and fill in shifts at all seven locations is required. Mileage will be calculated from Norfolk General to other locations.
